Roll five dice, build a minion army: Of Dice and Minions joins Steam Next Fest with a free demo

The pixel-art dice-rolling auto-battler roguelite has a free demo on Steam during Next Fest, October 19 to 26, and launches in full on November 16, 2026.

A five-of-a-kind hand summons a minion army

Five dice, one army

Of Dice and Minions is a pixel-art, dice-rolling auto-battler roguelite where your army comes from five dice.

Each die is a minion type. You roll, hold the dice you like and reroll the rest, chasing a poker-style hand. The higher a die lands, the more of that minion spawn, and the hand you make adds a bonus. Dice outside your hand become boons. Then your army fights on its own as you push down the dungeon. Bosses roll dice too, and call in reinforcements.

The free demo and the full game

The free demo on Steam covers the tutorial and Floors 1 to 20, with bosses on Floors 10 and 20. It is part of Steam Next Fest, October 19 to 26, 2026. The demo runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Steam Deck with full controller support, and has German, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish in BETA; the full game launches with the same languages. Demo progress uses a separate save and does not carry over to the full game.

The full game launches on Steam on November 16, 2026, with 100 floors. Of Dice and Minions is made by Rob, the solo developer behind Foorbytes.

Players who tried the demo earlier will find steadier Windows startup and clearer start-of-run screens in the latest update (1.0.6, October 13); the patch notes are on the Steam page.
